The Genre Project
The Genre Project is the band name for original musical projects that I am writing and will be recording. I will have been blessed by contributions from some world class musicians that I have met recently.
I need to mention that my inspiration for moving ahead with this endeavor has been Mikhal Caldwell. He has managed to re-energize my creative mind and inspire me to revisit artistic expression. I am currently recording keyboard parts for Mikhal's upcoming CD release "Ethics vs. Logic". I am honored to be playing with such an amazing lineup.
Bob Sworaski
I have been playing for over 40 years and have found out that it is a love that is impossble to give up. It becomes part of your being and enriches your life and your soul. I consider it a blessing to be able to create something out of nothing from my heart, my mind and my soul. I have been re-energized recently by some great musicians that I have met and re-connected with from my past. You create music from emotions, dreams, and your inner self and not by turning on a machine. The tools have changed but real music is created from the heart, life experiences, and emotional observations of what is all around us. I love the computer age but it is just a tool to create musical art. If I can't "feel" it, I don't play it.
Mikhal Caldwell
"Awesome, Amazing, Unbelievible are all very common terms when hearing fans decribe the playing of Mikhal. Mik has come a long way from playing a $19 Decca Guitar in the mirror mimicking Jimi Hendrix at 10 years old. At 12, his grandmother purchased his first "real guitar" and provided him with the encouragement to play. By his early teens he began to transform his Hendrix inspired pentatonic / blues scale style, into a wide range investigating different genres of music." (Quote from an article on Mikhal)
Mikhal found me on MySpace and I thank him for that because he re-energized me to be creative again and realize what I almost gave up.
Eddie Kohen
Eddie Kohen's musical career began at 9 years old with a beat up Kay classical guitar. By the time he was 13 he was playing with the high school kids as a lead guitarist. It was at this time that his musical interest turned to jazz. In the early 70's there were a lot of exciting things happening in the jazz world largly fueled by Miles Davis electric work at the time. The Miles family of musicians of this time proved to be a major influence.
